Heater Log Heaters and Heating Systems
All Petrotherm products are characterized by high reliability
and longevity in the oil patch. Regardless of what the acquisition
cost may be, Petrotherm products are ALWAYS lowest in
life-cycle costs. In fact, most of our installations
have lasted twenty to twenty-five years.

Heater Logs (HL)
Petrotherm Electric Heater Logs are designed for insertion into
pipe housings and provide efficient in-line preheating of fuel
oils for steam generators, heater treaters or other fuel-fired equipment.
The Heater Log consists of 3-6 heating elements mounted on a
flanged header assembly and utilizes a proprietary element spacer
that does not restrict the oil flow and causes no "damming",
thus reducing the chances of premature heater burn-out. The elements
are individually replaceable in case of heater burn-out, dramatically
reducing replacement costs.
A thermowell can be located in the center of the flange assembly
for a standard 3/8" liquid bulb or other sensor. Please consult
the factory for non-standard requirements, including special mounting
flanges, different lengths, power ratings, thermowell sizes, RTD
and electronic temperature control, and explosion proof designs.
Applications
- In-line fuel oil heaters for steam generators, heater treaters, etc.
- Ammonia vaporizers for NOX control.
- Caustic and chemical solution heaters
- Tank heaters (see THL)

Replaceable Elements:
With other heaters the entire assembly must be
replaced if even one heater element burns out.
Petrotherm's design allows replacement of individual
elements, easily done by one operator. |
 |
Long Life: Low watt-density
design and ample spacing between elements. |
 |
Standard Sizes: Provides easy retrofit into existing equipment. |
 |
Efficient: 100% of the heat
energy is transferred directly to the fluid. |
 |
Cost Savings: Greater economy
in maintenance and operation. |
